THE CHALLENGE
To create an original, immersive, and accessible show for an international audience within a high-profile event setting.
The challenge was to design, as part of the Jeddah Events Calendar 2023, a temporary production capable of captivating a broad, international audience while meeting Saudi Arabia’s cultural and event ambitions.The project needed to combine artistic excellence, technological immersion, and family accessibility, all within exceptionally tight production timelines.
It also involved transforming an existing arena into a true performance venue, optimizing sightlines, intimacy, and the emotional connection between stage and audience.
THE SOLUTION
The solution was VIZION, an original production conceived by Cirque du Soleil and developed exclusively for the Jeddah Events Calendar at the King Abdullah Sports City with National Events Center.
Based on a universal narrative inspired by childhood imagination, the show immerses the audience in a world where reality and dreams blend, following the journey of Mr. Pace.
The arena is reconfigured into a Las Vegas-style proscenium format, complemented by immersive scenography, spectacular acrobatics, advanced lighting and video technology, origami-inspired costumes, and an original cinematic score. This combination creates a seamless, full sensory experience accessible to audiences of all ages.
