XLVI SUPER BOWL HALFTIME SHOW
THE CHALLENGE
Conceiving and producing a 12-minute show in collaboration with Madonna, one of the most influential artists of all time, for the Super Bowl XLVI Halftime Show at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
The challenge is to create a strong connection with pop culture and amplify public interest in the halftime show, while respecting the strict field preservation standards and conceiving the production simultaneously for the 68,658 spectators in the stadium and the 114 million television viewers around the world.

THE SOLUTION

It is Madonna herself who calls on Cirque du Soleil's artistic direction to conceive her show, in collaboration with choreographer Jamie King and under the creative leadership of Michel Laprise. The show is conceived as two simultaneous experiences, one for the stadium, one for the television audience, requiring meticulous coordination across all creative and technical teams.
At the heart of the production, an unprecedented innovation at this scale: the projection mapping technique, developed in collaboration with Moment Factory, transforms the entire field into a vast living video surface, with images adapting in real time to the choreography of the performers. The 36-metre modular stage is designed to meet the strict standards for field preservation, with a precisely planned installation and dismantling logistics. To bring this total spectacle to life, more than 1,500 team members (70% of whom are volunteers) are mobilized, including Cirque du Soleil artists who join Madonna, LMFAO, M.I.A, Nicki Minaj and Cee Lo Green on stage.
